  18. <p>     It seemed endless, but at long last it had ended. Or so the
  19. world thought. The highbrow mini-series that was the JANET MALCOLM
  20. libel trial is getting a sequel. A San Francisco court has ruled
  21. that the writer will have to square off again with colorful
  22. psychoanalyst JEFFREY MASSON. Jurors in the first trial found
  23. that she fabricated five Masson quotes in a New Yorker profile,
  24. but were unable to reach a decision on damages. The good news
  25. for the venerable weekly is that it has been dropped from the
  26. second round of legal theater.
